Becoming a parent is a life-changing, exciting experience, whether it’s your first, second, or third child. It is quite a journey to undergo when you carry a child for nine months, and you will find that life is never the same in more ways than one. However, while women are prepared for the changes to the body during pregnancy, one of the areas that cause the most surprises amongst women is the number of changes that your body goes through after pregnancy. These can come as quite a shock!
Therefore, it can be helpful to be aware of a few of the significant changes so that you know what to expect once your little bundle of joy arrives in the world and you begin this exciting new chapter in your life.
1. Hair Loss
is one that (understandably) causes a great deal of concern, but itis nothing to be worried about and only temporary. During pregnancy, you will have lost very little hair because of all of the hormones, so this is a way for the body to compensate for the fact that you did not loseas much as usual. This changewill go back to normal after around sixmonths.
2. Breast Changes
One of the most noticeable changes will be that your breasts will become swollen, sore and flushed a day or two after birth. for increasing and maintaining a healthy supply of milk if this is a problem that you encounter after childbirth.
3. Skin Discoloration
You may have gotten used to people saying that you are glowing while you are pregnant thanks to the “mask of pregnancy,” but you may suffer from in the first few weeks after the child is born. If you suffered from acne, then you should see this clear up, which is certainly one welcome change!
4. Back Pain
Back pain is a common complaint because it can take time for the stretched abdomen muscles to regain strength. It means that the muscles in your back are taking on extra weight.
One of the most significant changes will be your stomach, andthis is no surprise considering what the body has just been through. The uterus will remain hard and round immediately after giving birth, but it will no longer be felt after around six weeks. Stretch marks will remain but do blend in with your skin after a while, and any flakiness in the mid-section could be gone with and abdominal exercises.
6. Excessive Sweating
It can be worrying if you start to sweat profusely at night, butthis is simply your body getting rid of extra fluids from your pregnancy.
These are a few more of the bigger changes that you will notice after pregnancy. Many of these can be alarming, but you should not worry as it is merely your body adjusting and recovering from what has been a physically demanding and challenging nine months!
