  • Wear Sunglasses

Sunlight contains ultraviolet (UV) rays that can cause damage to your eyes, so wearing sunglasses will protect them from these harmful rays, as well as extra bright light during peak hours. Look for polarized sunglasses that block out 99 to 100 percent of both UVA and UVB radiation

Most people think they only need to wear them when the sun is out, but the truth is that even on cloudy days, there are UV rays coming out from the sun by penetrating the clouds. So, make sure you wear sunglasses whenever you’re outside, no matter what the weather is.

Limiting your screen time doesn’t mean completely avoiding the technology. It just means you should be aware of the time you are spending in front of a computer or other device and take short breaks every 20 minutes. 

The reason is that blue light emitted from screens is not healthy at all. It can disrupt your sleep and lead to blurred vision. There are blue-cut eyeglasses available in the market that block most of the blue light coming from screens, so consider investing in them to maintain healthy vision. 

  • Use Artificial Tears

If you have ever been to an eye-specialist doctor regarding dryness and irritation in your eyes, you would know they recommend teardrops. These artificial tears are a great way to keep your eyes hydrated and healthy and protect them from further damage. 

You should use artificial tears several times a day to ensure that your eyes are adequately lubricated. They are available without a prescription and can be found in most drugstores or online. However, make sure to look for preservative-free varieties.
